XIA PLEASURE OBJECTS PRESENTS THE XIA ONE DILDO

The Berlin based brand Xia Pleasure Objects has begun its journey with the launch of the Xia One, a dildo designed with such care as to challenge the quality standards of its kind. Developed by Vivien D. LaFleur during the quiet months of the pandemic, the Xia One is the result of engaging conversations with the community and several years of refinement and attention to detail.

UNBIASED DESIGN

One of the main goals in the development of the Xia One Dildo was to free its design from a male bias that often hinders the possibilities a sex toy can offer. The true innovation of the Xia One is to absorb in its shape the most essential relationship that a pleasure object can have with the body, taking into account not only circlusion, penetration and stimulation but also the action of holding it with the hand, both for self-pleasure and the pleasure of others. That makes ergonomics a fundamental aspect of this dildo. Its two ends and different textures also make it tremendously versatile, opening its potential to different bodies and uses.

SAFETY

Another remarkable aspect of the Xia One Dildo is the high quality of its materials. In an industry defined by the lack of regulation, as shown by numerous reports such as the one from Stiftung Warentest in Germany in 2019, its safety is considered a must for a feminist approach to design. Under that light, the Xia One is made of platinum grade, FDA-approved and locally manufactured silicone. In addition to that, the final product has been tested by two independent labs (DEKRA Germany and ZURKO Spain), ensuring it is 100% body-safe, biocompatible and free from harmful substances. THE ENVIRONMENT

Xia Pleasure Objects is aiming to be part of a global movement of companies willing to commit to a better and more sustainable life on our planet. Xia is taking tangible and measurable steps to meet this statement, such as: avoiding electronic components that would shorten the product´s life and generate waste that is hard to recycle; producing locally and avoiding unnecessary transportation; taking a stand against animal suffering, closely monitoring the production process and materials used; minimizing packaging by using simple pouches and stickers made from one easily recyclable material and being sent climate neutral in compostable shipping boxes. In December 2022, Xia launched the program 'Small Flaws, Still Amazing', where products with small imperfections are offered at a generous discount, making the high-quality toys affordable for those on a smaller budget. Furthermore, to extend the idea of environmental justice, part of the sales go to feminist and queer organizations.

THE BIRTH OF XIA

Xia Pleasure Objects was founded in Berlin by Vivien D. LaFleur in 2020, with the initial backing of a small group of female private investors. It evolved out of several years of curiosity, experimentation, passion and commitment, leading to the design of the Xia One Dildo and its launch in 2022. The first prototypes were made of clay and hand poured silicone. As the complexity and precision of the design increased, its production moved to a factory located in Northern Spain, ensuring the quality of the entire process and providing controlled, repeatable results.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The launch of the Xia One Dildo is the first step in a series of pleasure objects that aim to improve the quality standards of existing products on the market. Two more products are in development, after which Xia will focus on collaborations with designers and artists that help imagine other ways to implement our sex life. The company's goal is to keep growing slowly, ensuring that each step is beneficial beyond economic profitability, promoting a sustainable and thorough development of its products, guaranteeing care and quality.
